Personal & Blog
Why did you start this blog?
Before leaving the States, I went through a series of various study abroad orientations and at every one of them they told us that keeping a blog or some form of record of our experience was highly recommended. I’m horrible with journals but have kept blogs off and on for years, so I decided to turn this blog into a place where I can document as much of my experience as possible, as well as provide travel tips and tricks!
How long have you been blogging?
On and off from the mid-2000s.
So your boyfriend is Japanese? How did you meet?
Indeed he is! I’ll write more about us in the future. For now, you’ll see me post about him quite often on Twitter.
What kind of camera do you use?
I just use my iPhone 6 and edit my photos with VSCO!
Japan, Study Abroad, & Travel
A more thorough answer will be provided in a blog post in the future!
What school do you attend? What’s your program like?
I’m attending Kwansei Gakuin University (関西学院大学), a private university in the Kansai region. I sometimes refer to it as “Kangaku” or “KGU.” I’m in their Japanese language program which allows me to intensively study Japanese — I have class everyday, and various other classes about kanji and grammar!
I’m coming to Japan! Can we meet up?
If you’re planning to come to Osaka, I’d be happy to meet up for lunch, coffee, or dinner! Shoot me a message on Twitter and we can talk about where to meet and what to do. 😋
What’s it like being so far away from home?
Weirdly…okay. Japan feels like home to me, so I don’t struggle that much with homesickness. I really miss my dogs and my parents, but I have a hard time missing Las Vegas. I’d kill for an In N Out burger though…🍔
